The law changes every single year.
A new Finance Act arrives every July. The Finance Act, 2025 alone amended the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, Tax Procedures Act, Excise Duty Act, Stamp Duty Act and the Miscellaneous Fees and Levies Act. It capped the carry-forward of tax losses at five years, removed VAT exemptions in sectors such as manufacturing and healthcare, and introduced Advance Pricing Agreements from 1 January 2026. A business that learned its tax rules three years ago is already operating on outdated knowledge.
